Items from Sundays Club Meeting

This month after ten years as R.O.  and eleven years looking after the regions website I decided to stand down as did my Deputy James Taylor. Many thanks James, and Julie for standing in at meetings and organizing some of the events for me. The new R.O. is Shirley Lynch who together with her husband Andy take part in many TVR organized tours and events as well as competing in sprints and hill climbs. I know Shirley will do a great job in the R.O. role for the region, Shirley is also taking over running the website.

Heath Briggs is taking over as Deputy R.O. which is great as Heath and Paul’s garage TVR X WORKS is already a focal point in the Fylde for all things TVR. We wish them both well in their new roles.

We spoke about the need for a new venue for our club meetings or a new style of meeting. This needs wider discussion by all our regions members to see what they want from the regions meetings. We have proposed to hold the next meeting at the Ribchester Arms in Ribchester on Thursday 13th October. If you want to eat in the pub please let Shirley know so she can reserve a table. If you just want to have a drink and Chat that is also just fine. We could rotate meetings between different pubs every month as some other regions do or try and find a fixed venue and decide on a new day and date. We need your inputs please so try and attend the October meeting.

Possible venues were discussed for the Christmas Lunch OR evening meal suggested are the Orchard at Broughton near Preston and the Queens Hotel in Lytham. If you would prefer an evening as opposed to a lunch time please let Shirley know ASAP.

Congratulations on your escape, but seriously, if you hadn’t been so welcoming and supportive when I first met you at 3 Sisters in June 2014, as a new TVRCC member, I doubt that I would have enjoyed 2 seasons of motorsport. Thank you.

I’m sorry that Jane and I haven’t been able to attend many other events…..we are lucky enough to spend a lot of our weekends away, but I hope to remedy that in the future.

Best wishes to Shirley, who I am sure will be a more than able successor.
Now, if the TVRCC Speed Championship has a Northern Award, how about us chipping in for a trophy…..the “Dave Welton Zimmers and Zoomers Trophy” for the highest placed Blackpool TVRCC member?

    Thanks Dave.

    Duncan
