Old Nells’s

Sixteen of us went to Old Nell’s at Bilsborrow last night for a meal and run out. Those of us from the Blackpool area met up at the Shell garage near the M55. It was nice to see some new faces there including Paul Forrest, Rufus and his wife in their Green Chimeara and Don Hastey and his wife. Don had been at Heaths and decided to stay over for the meal. A quick blast up the motorway and we met up with Jim and Shiela Edwards and Mark Warburton who had gone straight to the pub.

Either the nights are drawing in or we talked a lot as it was dark when we left. I took the country route back home and realised just how useless the headlights are on my SEAC!

It was a great night out and it was suggested we should do something similar every month.

A new “Driving God is born”

Today at the 3 Sisters a new star appeared on the scene. Bill Campion’s S2 ran flawlessly all day and on his last run pipped Duncan Woodcock by 0.26 seconds with a time of 54.38 to take the 25 points. Bill annialated me by 1.83 seconds. Final times on circuit 2 were

Bill 54.38, Duncan 54.64, Me 56.21 (I think it’s getting time for me to retire)

Closure of Regional Bank Account

Russ Larcombe and I have now closed the Blackpool Region bank account. The account was opened in 2010 to hold money relating to the Back Home event we ran at that time. Russ has been asking me to close the account for some time and the monthly account charges have reduced what little money there was in it down to £0.6 in May 2015 where the balance has remained ever since. I WILL BUY A JOINT BAG OF CRISPS AT THE NEXT MEETING AND GIVE YOU ONE EACH!

S3 for sale?

A message from Duncan Woodcock

I have a client with a Classic Car Insurance with us who wants to sell his S3 (I think it’s an S3) which has just 35,400 miles on the clock. I’ve seen the car before and it’s a lovely thing in a deep metallic green with cream upholstery.  I’ve no idea how much he wants for it but it’s insured for an agreed value of £10K.

I’ve attached some grainy black and white photos from our file.

If it’s of interest to any members the owner is Ross Hunter who lives near Carnforth, and can be contacted on 077104 65009 or 015242 72540.

Aintree sprint 25th June

It appears that Duncan’s better driving skills are equalled by the extra performance of my Tasmin.

The times were

David  53.85seconds

Duncan 53.59 seconds

However the timing algorithm  compensates for my extra power and Duncan ends up winning by a country mile! 48.43 seconds against my 52.55 I DEFINATELY NEED THE OLD CODGERS FACTOR TO BE ADDED!

The current positions of the Blackpool Championship are shown below
