Charity Karting Challenge Tuesday 8th Dec

Duncan Woodcock and his company Reid Hamilton have organised a karting 2 hour endurance race for charity at Cumbria Karting in Barrow in Furness. The event is for 10 teams of 4 people and 8 teams have already registered including a team from the Bay Radio station who will be covering the event.

The cost of the event is £200 per team, which will include a charitable donation of £80 per team. With ten teams competing, this will provide a prize fund of £800 to which, as sponsors, Reid Hamilton will contribute a further £800, bringing the total raised for charity to £1,600.

Prizes: Each team will be asked to nominate a local charity for whom they will compete, with awards will be presented to the nominated charities of the top four teams as follows – 1st £750, 2nd £500, 3rd £250 and 4th £100.

In summary for £50 a head you can have 2 hours racing and possibly win some money for a charity of your choice. NOW I KNOW THERE ARE SOME VERY GOOD KART DRIVERS IN THE BLACKPOOL CLUB and I’m sure there at least 5 or 6 people in the club capable of winning this event, despite Duncan thinking his team are the “canine attachments” So come on you racing and kart drivers lets enter a team.

Kart champions include James Campion, Heath Briggs, Dave & Angela Courtney
Current racing drivers include Keith & Janet Malpus
Current sprinters include Andy Lynch I exclude myself as I get travel sick driving Karts!

The completed entry form and entry fee have to be with Duncan by the 30th of September

So lets be quick if we are to enter this. Please contact me by the club meeting on the 20th at the latest if you are interested in being a member of the team

Many thanks David
