The Club Meeting on Sunday the 30th December will be mid way between Christmas and New Years Day and I thought you may need to get out in some fresh air as well as show off your new presents to your fellow members. As such I have planned a run out in the Nothern area of the Lake District. I propose we meet up at Forton Services on the North bound M6 at 9:00and set off at 9:15 sharp.
Assuming there is no heavy snowfall I propose to go up the Kirkstone pass on the A592 up to Troutbeck. Then along the A66 to Braithwaite where we will go up the Wynlatter pass and stop at the Visitor Centre for cakes and coffee. From there we head to Buttermere taking in the Honister pass on the way and then back up to Keswick. From there we head back South along the B 532 via Grasmere to Windermere and on home to Preston.
Total Milage is 146 and the driving time is 3hrs 24 mins
Due to a computing problem I will bring copies of the route to Forton Sevices
If we deem the roads unfit we will go closer to home perhaps via Kirby Lonsdale and back down to Skipton and along the A59
