June Meet/Midland Hotel

The June Sunday meeting saw a large turnout of members and it was nice to see Stuart in his red 450 wedge. Stuart is one of the clubs longest serving members and joined in the 1970’s. Following the meeting we went to visit the Midland Hotel in Morecambe for afternoon tea. For those who don’t know the hotel, it is a listed building and in the art deco style, that had become derilect. It has recently been restored and reopened to the public and is well worth a visit if you are ever in the area.

Twenty eight members in 15 cars made the trip and the afternoon tea was excellent and good value for money.

Other items raised at the meeting were:-

Everyone was reminded re taking photographs for the 2012 Club Calendar which Dave Cahill has kindly volunteered to compile. Please send your photo’s directly to Dave at as high a resolution as possible.

I have compiled 2 possible Tours for either Autumn or next year. The first is to Wales for 4 nights and 5 days and costs approx £525 for 2 people. The second is in Germany and takes in the Rhine valley, Black Forrest, Munich and back up the Romantica strasse and wine / hop regions. The cost for 2 people is appprox £1600 I will post details on the website as soon as possible.

I have also found a 1 day trip round the Bronte area of Yorkshire which was printed in the Telegraph a few years ago.
